Financial Management is Critical to Our Future

Management of our Finances and our Assets is CRTICAL to our future and to impoving the Value of our Community and our Homes ... an obvious statement. HOW we accomplish it is not a simple Task ... and one that must be done with expertise and experience in Business, Project, Finance, Community Management. SUGGESTION - form an "Advisory Board" made up of experienced Owners who can serve as a Team to oversee, review and advise the Board of Directors as to how best Manage the Homeowners Association (HOA). What are your thoughts about how to best "Manage" our Future in a Professional manner and provide a Strategic and "Best Practices" Approach, that will provide a solid basis for Board Planning and Actions over the next TEN + Years ???

Currently, Financial Planning and Reporting is done by the Board of Directors, seemingly without input from Owners. A Budget is prepared for Operations and a "provision" is made for Reserves Spending, but a Capital Budget has never been issued to forecast needs for Reserves Spending into the future ( 10 Years or more ). Reports are only made available on an Annual Basis and Owners are not allowed to attend Board Meetings. SUGGESTION - Make ALL Board Meeting OPEN to Owners, with a Published Agend; Include Owners in the Budget Preparation process, includding a Capital Budget, separate from Operations Budget, for Reserves Spending for Capital / Infrastructure Maintenance / Improvement (such a paving of streets, greenspace projects, etc); Pu…
